NaBloPoMo Day Four - Now with NO Election Commentary

Day Four

My First Ruby Tuesday, and sign up is here.

I am not going to talk about the election. I WILL be attending an election blog party. I will only say this: if you haven't already, GO VOTE.

Today I would like to introduce one of my father's paintings:
I took a trip to California this summer, and was able to take photos of his artwork. He has volumes of sketches, pen and ink creations, and pencil drawings.

If you are interested in seeing more of his work, check out my flickr set of his paintings. I will try to feature more of them during this month!

Wow! Is dad a professional artist or is this just something he did as a hobby? I'm looking forward to seeing more!

sayre - he is just doing it as a hobby - but he has an extensive portfolio already. He needs some exposure.

melli - thanks - and I am hoping that I get to share more on this blog soon!

bond - thanks - I will try to share more of his more intricate work soon.

Hi Tiggerlane--tried to comment on your Fun Monday but for some reason these "freeze"(how's that for a technical term?)on your web page real often for me. Sometimes you refuse to scroll, sometimes you lock the comment box. What's up girl? Are you just messing with my weak mind? (..)

Anyway, am so glad to get on today because your father's art is so bold and appealing. I love your Ruby Tuesday selection and then also the one to the right of this work in the flickr album.

That's really lovely, looks random as well as not all at once. I find it very relaxing to just let the mind wander and the pencil do the work, not that it turns out *quite* as nice as your dad's painting of course...:) Have a good RT.

Oh wow, Tiffany, these paintings are amazing! Very impressive. Wow.

ps: I know you're not talking about election day, but I have my jalapenos in the oven, if you're interested. I also bought a single square piece of chocolate cake which I am calling my Obama Victory Square. I hid it in the back of the fridge so as to not tempt fate. ;)

faye - thanks so much for the comment...and honestly? Have NO CLUE what is going on...I do know it takes a while to load my page because of all the photos.

pia k - I wish I had that talent...I just can't wander, you know? I'm too structured, and it's bothersome.

melissa - I'm dying to know if you passed out from champagne consumption before you ate the Obama Victory Square. SO?

bermudabluez - many thanks!

storyteller - I didn't get to visit any of the others...too busy engrossed in election coverage. MUST do it next Tuesday!

moi - thanks!

kila - glad you liked it - I hope he will give me his collection when he runs out of room at home.

Holy cow, your father's that talented? He's making my father's look more and more like an uncreative jerkoff.

karla - LOL! Omg...now I have to see your father's work...and I'm gonna have to get my dad to market some of this stuff.

We have an artist in the family too, but she turned to graphic arts to pay the bills. Now she works for the NY Times online.

desert songbird - I would love her job - I think I was meant to be an artist of some sort.
