Too Cute NOT to Blog!

I just absolutely loved this. Not just b/c I'm a music fan, but b/c these guys are fantastically good and creative with their a cappella performance. This is "Straight No Chaser," who performed this little dittie live at Indiana University in 1998. The production company who filmed it went out of business, but one of the original members of the group managed to track the previous owner down. Lucky for us, he still had an original copy of their performance.

Just in time for the holidays, here are the 12 Days of Christmas, like you've never heard them before.Merry, merry!

Any Christmas melody that incorporates a parody of Toto's "Africa" in it deserves a few kudos. :)

WOW! FABULOUS! Thanks for sharing that, I loved it! I clapped and cheered for them, LOL.

It brought back a lot of memories. My brother is a singer and was in a similar a cappella group when he attended UW-Madison. They even recorded a CD. I must find it and listen to it now!...

mugsy - agreed! I laughed my butt off at that point. Well, not ALL of it.

kila - yes - you must find it, and share with us!

laurie - that was my favorite part, too - it is a tough song anyway, but with different words - amazing!

desert songbird - steal away! The more the merrier!

Very, very impressive!

When I saw this post yesterday I just bypassed the clip thinking "yeah, yeah, 12 days, a cappella, big deal", I'm glad I decided to watch it today. Thanks.

That was great!

I bet it was just as fun to practice as it was to perform.

I wonder what all those guys are doing now.

lisa's chaos - if I wasn't such a neophyte, I might be able to help. Maybe I should ask The Offspring - she can make this computer do everything but a backflip.

m@ - GIVE kids?? LOL!! Hey - I was in labor all Christmas Day - so yeah, what a GIFT!

kaytabug - I'm glad you enjoyed - and thanks for being a regular reader! In case you haven't noticed, I'm a horrible blog visitor. Fun Monday redeems me.

willowtree - I'm glad you liked it - I haven't checked out their other clips on YouTube, but I'm wondering...as I'm wandering...BTW, thanks for being the first to let people know that I can't blog everyday b/c I'm running a company. :-) Oh, and yeah, I'm married and trying to run and husband and child. Unsuccessfully.

karmyn r - I HOPE they are still singing. And NOT on that lame Choir reality show. Thank goodness Arkansas Songbird doesn't have TV - she would be horrified!

bond - have you seen them live?
