Fun Monday Voyeurism - UPDATED!

It's another Fun Monday, and today's hostess is Vicki, also known as the Horny Redneck Christian Woman. She is the ultimate voyeur, and her assigment was to post photos of our springtime view from our front door. I'm hoping this is the LAST spring I will be posting this view! Vicki is so honest about her intentions for today, as she states: "Today is the day I can peek through your door and see what you see everyday. It makes us BFF. It almost shows my stalker personality. It satisfies my sweet tooth. Makes me feel all cozy and warm inside when I get to peek into your world."
It's garbage day on my block, so I thought I'd treat you to a front view of the house first. It's not the best thing in the world to wake up to a street lined with garbage bags, though I made an effort not to show them in the next photo. Roger mowed the lawn this weekend, and I wish I could dig it up and move it to the new property. It's St. Augustine - a beautiful, lush grass that grows like crazy. When The Offspring was little, it was nice to have a lawn that was good for tumbling and rolling and just laying back on to enjoy the sun.
I wish you could have seen my springtime view last month, as my azaleas were all blooming in glorious splendor. Red, white, light pink, dark pink, along with an abundance of purple iris. Sadly, they are short-lived and gone now. I can see the neighbor's iris from my front door - a lavender cluster around the base of the tree. You can't see them too well here, but look under our flag, and you might see their purple haze.
Now for the back door photo - actually, this view isn't STRAIGHT out the back door...because I was late for work this morning and almost forgot to take the photo. So it's my view as I'm getting in my car, with my very sad dog. Poo Woo doesn't like to see me go away, as evidenced by this pouty look. Roger is going to be home today, but it's just not the same for Poo Woo. Roger may be the pack leader, but I am his "mom."

My next post will be photolicious, as I had a very exciting weekend with some folks from Japan. And for those of you who are curious as to what the view looked like last time, here is your link!

I envy you your lovely lush grass we've had so little rain (unusual for the UK at this time of year) that the grass is very parched and brown. Your rocker looks very inviting, I could imagine sitting there with a sundowner. Ahh just look at PooWoo's sad eyes.

You have an adorable home!!! (How big is your new one going to be?)

Poor Poo Woo - with a name like that, I'd be sad too. hee hee

I agree with Karmynr. That neighborhood makes me proud to be an American.

Do I smell apple pie? Or am I just really high?

adorable house! Just adorable!

The rocker, the windchimes and the flowers... looks straight from a storybook!

N I C E double rocker, that could be cozy :). I hear ya about the azaleas...that's the only problem I have with them. FANTASTIC show, but then they crash and burn all too fast :(. Ours crashed early from the late freeze, so the "show" was even shorter.

Your home does look storybook...what's the "new chapter" gonna look like?

btw, you are one...sensual...woman!

Boy that grass look soft. All I get is bindii and cat's heads. I'm looking forward to seeing construction pictures.

Grass looks great but you need to extend your beds outward and add a a couple of trees.

What a charming and inviting home. Nice porch, too. The lawn looks pretty comfy.

Huh. Learn something new every day, especially about Matt-Man.

Nice lawn, cute neighborhood. Bet you're looking forward to the new place, though!

Those front porches have my envy.

I agree with Pameal - Gingerbread House. . . The porch is SO inviting!

How's the new house coming?

chrisb - You are welcome to come crash on my porch and roll in my grass, anytime! I need to take a photo of Poo Woo's reaction when I come home.

karmyn - It is cute - but too small! Our new one will be 2,100 sq ft - a little big for the three of us, but it's TIME. And Poo Woo is a eunich (a nutless wonder), so the name kinda fits.

matt - Aren't you always high?

vicki - thanks! Looks can be deceiving, though - it takes a lot of upkeep to make sure a 104-year old house doesn't collapse!

tracey - I tried my best to not photograph the trash bins. I think I did okay. Thanks for the compliment on my dog!

stephanie - Thanks! I'll have to post some happier Poo Woo shots later.

beccy - Thanks! No, he gets very sad. He's a very devoted dog.

heather - Yes - it's a charming little place. Emphasis on "little." Time to upgrade - and the puppy needs a bigger yard!

robin - My hubby and I luckily rock at the same speed, so it is a nice cozy spot. The azaleas sure are pretty - but ours crashed early, too. The new home will have a freakin' MONSTER front porch, and have brick exterior with 10' ceilings and tons of windows that capture the mountain view. And now I'm all wondering what makes me so sensual?? (I think you're right, tho!)

WT - I'll start sending them as soon as they start construction. I have to "grave sites" right now (perc test holes) and some flags, but that's about it. Maybe I'll post them anyway.

matt-man - Actually, I'm not doing ANY landscaping at this point. Since we're moving in less than a year, I'm planning to dig up a lot of my iris, daffodils, and maybe some of my lawn to move to the new digs. And with our weather, trees tend to fall on the roof a lot.

kila - you're welcome to stop by, anytime! Bring the kiddos, too! The lawn was a major romping place when The Offspring was young - her friends really enjoyed it.

desert songbird - DEFINITELY looking forward to the new place. See how close the other houses are? I'm tired of that. I can't yell at my kid or husband in private. (teehee!)

pamela - I think it's called "cottage-style," but lots of folks think it's a Victorian. The porch faces northeast - so I definitely don't have the sun in my eyes during the evening. Very pleasant. We have times of the year that we call "porchin' weather."

shauna - the new house should start coming together in June or July. I plan a MUCH bigger porch, too! But I like our little place - it will be missed. I'm gonna keep it for a few months after we move - fix it up some, and try to sell it to a friend so I can still come visit.

melissa - I plan on having a much bigger porch on the new house...with room for many chairs, rockers, tables - I want to be able to host meals on it!

piglet - You are welcome to roll around on my grass as well.

Erik - it IS nice...but the house could be bigger!
