Tiggerlane's View

Vicki had this wonderfully voyeuristic idea that we post photos of our front door view. She was very precise in her instructions; precise enough that even a neophyte like me should have been comfortable participating. For example, this set: "Stand in the doorway of your home. Face to the outside of the house." Then we are supposed to snap a photo. Simple enough. Take a look:
My house actually has TWO front doors - one that opens into our living room, and one that opens into our bedroom that is never used. Vicki's instructions further state: "There doesn't have to be a circus going on in your front yard. The point is just to post whatever you see out your front door." Okay. Technically, our front door is more like a side door - so if you're standing on the porch, facing the street...you would see this:
Probably more appropriate, seeing as it is our front yard and all. And technically, it's from a front door - just not the one we use. Later on, she mentioned we should be taking photos of "the doorway you use to enter your home." Hmmm...well, the "porch view" is the view from the doorway OTHER people use to enter my home. And the door used by politicians and religious cults to hang their flyers. However, we always go in the back door. What the heck, here's that view, too! We are forced to use the back door because we don't have a key to the front doors. They have old-timey doorknobs, and we usually just deadbolt and chain them from the inside in order to secure the house. Of course, a bunch of other folks use the back door. Enough other folks that Songbird even bought Roger this sign for Christmas present:
And finally, this isn't the view from my front door, but the view from our FUTURE front door from our new home, to be built this year. It's my favorite!

I think I'm your neighbor.

Okay. I'm kidding. You'd know because of the noise and my poor parking job.

I like safe voyeuristic trips. That's why I started my Project 365 photoblog - to see how others live and to capture my own life.

I like your little porch swing.

BTW - COLTS WIN COLTS WIN COLTS WIN!!!!!! OMG - WE'RE GOIN' TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!!!!

Hope you had a good weekend.

I love your front porch! And I can't wait to see your future view - will it have a front porch, too? That's the one BIG thing I regret about my house :(

I love signs like the Hippie sign. I have a sign on my bathroom door that tells Skiers to take off their Ski's before entering the bathroom stall. (Please.)

The future view is just beautiful! I like that in current yard you have a side walk out to your car. That sure would help keeping your shoes clean.

Oh, I love the porch, and the rocking seat. Do you use it much?

Looks like a nice, neat neighborhood, but your new neighborhood looks even better!

I like the color of your house! And I'm jealous - another house with a porch.

Funny, I thought I left a comment here last night...hmmmm.

Anyway, I think the very nice man has a point, there's seems to be a lot of pictures. It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that it's owned by a real estate agent who is about to move does it?

1. Love the porch...same thing as I said on Songbird's.

2. Your new house will be spectacular with that view!

3. Funny sign!! :)

I just finished commenting on Shauna's post that Vicki had given us clear instructions, and now I get to your post and it made me giggle. You did your BEST to follow them, huh? Love that you got SEVERAL views for your readers, it tells us sooo much more than a single shot.

Your new homesite looks fraught with possibilities :). Your current porch reminds me somewhat of mine :).

They say backdoor guests are the best. That is one of the hardest things around here when visiting someone new is to decide which door to use. Love the hippie sign.

Your new view is gorgeous!!

Love your new sign and your view from future house!!

Of course, I love your porch. They are a fetish of mine!

Nice blog!

mist - I wouldn't notice your noise, since my husband has two amps plugged into various electric guitars in my dining room!

All - The porch rocker IS used, and is much sturdier than the flimsy porch swing that used to inhabit the porch. The new house will be sporting a HUGE porch - big enough for tables and chairs and partiers.

The color of my house is one thing I really do like about it.

Songbird did good to buy Roger that sign!

Well, I am slowly making my way around to reading everyone's blogs. I love your views. I love your sign! I LOVE your view from what will be your new front door.

So where are you on your building? Have you all broke ground? I am so glad that I "know" someone going through this at the same time we are.

I was thinking about you the other day, wondering who you are going for in the Super Bowl. Now that I have caught up on your writings I know. Go Peyton!! We are going for the Colts as well!
