Fun Monday Trivia

The funny ladies at Mama Drama are the hostesses for this week's Fun Monday, and they wanted to know: What funny trivial fact do you remember that you probably should have forgotten a long time ago?

At the risk of appearing EXTREMELY boring to my readers - and revealing myself as someone who actually DID pay attention while working on her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (specializing in Managment) - and someone who went and got her MBA, even thought she didn't HAVE to...here is my trivial fact: American Airlines saved $40,000 in 1987 by eliminating one olive from each salad served in first class.

Now you know the truth. My boring useless fact!
Just to help rebuild my reputation as a fun-loving, silly girl, here is the latest track that The Offspring and I are addicted to:

Let's hope that worthless piece of musical fluff restores your faith in me!

I too read that bit of trivia somewhere!!

Loved this Fun Monday. Mine is posted. Hopefully this is a bit on the 'FUNny side' too. Drop by if you can, won't you? Happy day to you.

Wow, it's amazing something so small could make such a big difference. :D

It's amazing that such a small gesture could save so much money. I want to know who they paid to figure that out LOL

Wow. Olives in salads...those were the days. Now you don't even get food anymore (not in coach anyway)...not that I miss that food.

That's a lot of saving. As far as I'm concerned they could omit olives all together~ but then I'd never be travelling 1st class LOL

That is amazing! My son lives in Lindsay, CA (former home of Linday olives). I remember well when this happened. The beginning of the end of the olive industry...lol.

That's amazing about the olives, they may be beyond that now. I love the chick in the video who passed out with her legs over her head.

Now that is amazing. Makes me wonder how much money i could save if i used one less square of TP when using the bathroom! ;0)

How funny - I remember hearing that too, but I didn't remember how much money was saved. Now do they even serve the salad anymore?

I heard the olive thing befor but I'm not sure it will save AA today I did once get to fly first class on AA it was nice but cost more than I would pay.

Okay, thanks Tiggerlane. I'm flying on the guilty airline in a couple of weeks--not first class though. Always try to limit myself to five olives per salad for waistline control. Now they've taken over as my self-controller. Good for the airline industry!

BTW, just got the Michael Phelps cartoon today--can't wait to send it on.

I'm sure now the salad is history, too?

the cartoon is great. if you stop and think about it, all of us must have had fast swimmers --

I do Manic Monday, not Fun Monday, but it's been fun to see what "useless trivia" has been popping up around the blogosphere.

I actually knew that piece of financial info too...does that make me a geek also?

Olives in a salad, ick. Olives a la carte, yum :)

Amazing about the olive. I have a pretty good idea what U.S. Airlines is saving when they serve me a three-cent bag of "pretzels."

Imagine what America could save if only....

hootin' anni - I'm so far behind, but next week, I'll be there!

jo beaufoix - there are so many WRONG comments I could make, I think I'll keep my mouth shut! LOL!

sandcastle momma - and don't you know, the olive company wasn't very happy!

min - yeah, and the food you do pay for is crap. I just get the drinks anymore.

chrisb - you DON'T have to be a first class girl, you know that, right? Teehee.

sandy - LOL! Oh, but us martini drinkers have probably multiplied...

jeanna - sadly, I have friends that do that at times!

ipost - I bet Sheryl Crow knows! She grossed me out when she suggested we all use "one square." Ick.

karmyn r - they barely let me walk thru first class anymore. I think they are having orgies up there.

iamwhoiam - right - like if the plane crashes, what difference would it make?

faye - too bad we didn't get the REAL Michael Phelps, huh?

pamela - LOL! And I never fly first class...so I don't know.

desert songbird - somehow, useless trivia seems appropriate for Manic Monday, too!

bond - we are TOTALLY geeks. Both of us.

m@ - OMG...do I really want to know where you were going with that?
