Mothers of Brothers volunteered to host this Fun Monday - and it's all about our favorite words! I could have bored you with a ton of words that just SOUND funny to me, or words I love to say (for instance, onomatopoeia). But I narrowed them all down to just two. I know you have lots of people to visit today.
The first word is "plethora." I just love how it rolls off my tongue, and it sounds kinda sexy with my Californitexarkansan accent.
The second word I love is "epiphany." Not only for it's meaning, but also because it is the only word I know that ryhmes with my name. A friend of mine (we'll call him Mr. Big) used the word in a sentence once: "I had an epiphany while at the symphony with Tiffany." Sweet.
And speaking of WORD...The Offspring was jammin' to this awhile back, and she was shocked when I told her that it WAS NOT originally done by Korn:
Seriously, how could even a metal band compete with the genius of a bright red codpiece? Here is the original - for your amusement!
Now, go check out all this week's participants - maybe you'll learn a word or two!

Epiphany I like, plethora not so much. Unfortunately, I cannot hear the videos. Maybe someone turned off the sound on my computer. I will have to tune in later.
I do also enjoy plethora. I try to say it as much as possible, in my weak attemp to sound smart.
Plethora is a fave around here. We use it a lot when we play cards and dominos. Why be boring.
I like codpiece.
great words...my daughter is always surprised when I tell her that a certain song by a new artist is not an original!!
Eureka! We have epiphany in common. And I agree w/ WT, codpiece is a fantastic word. Much better than jockstrap.
Thanks for participating so vivaciously in our first Fun Monday effort!
I love your words but I'm cracking up at WT (as usual)!
I was going to tell you how much I liked your words but am too busy snickering at codpiece and jockstrap :)
I always grit my teeth when I hear remakes of songs.
I'd love to hear your accent on plethora. My tongue gets twisted under my teeth on that word.
I used to babysit a girl named Epiphany. Yup, she was born on January 6th.
I like epiphany too, it sounds great!
Epiphany is definitely a good one! And oh my, another dose of reality regarding my age. I remember that song! lol
I remember Cameo!!! LOL
molly - it's not necessary to even listen - b/c the visuals are what make the videos!
big momma - it rolls around on the tongue nicely, dontcha think?
jan - I can hear it, "I have a plethora of spades!"
wt - it would dashing with your pirate panties.
alison - we have to keep up and educate our kids more every day, don't we?
jennifer - I think I should have picked codpiece as one of my favorites.
sauntering soul - I MUST use codpiece in a sentence this week - wonder if I could get WT to wear one?
amanda - now I can't get codpiece out of my head. LOL!
pamela - it's kinda like "Puh-Leth-oh-rah." Sexy and Southern!
kila - that is too cool! Wanted to name a kid Lorelei, but husbands name messed that up!
jientje - oh, but it doesn't sound as good as codpiece!
irish coffeehouse - that song came out the year I graduated high school - I feel OLD!
claudia - how could ANYONE forget that song, that video - that crotch?
I saw a Cameo cover band sing Word Up at an outdoor music festival once. It was the best cover in the history of time.
Okay, first... I never heard of Korn. I believe my age is showing even more than yours, because I never heard of the original artists either. I did laugh at Levar Burton playing the cop though! 'Var does get around...
I like both your words. Epiphany is so evocative.
I used to like the word epiphany, but then I came across the word epiphaniacal, and I love that even more.
Someone else had epiphany as a word of choice. I like it, too.
Red codpiece wins!
Someone else had epiphany as a word of choice. I like it, too.
Red codpiece wins!
Now I've seen it again I do remember that codpiece..he looks rather fond of it LOL
You're right Plethora rolls nicely around the tongue I like this word :)
I like using the word plethora, I just have a very hard time spelling it.
Oh yes.....epiphany. I do like the ring of it. Nice choice. I can see why YOU like it too. My name rhymes with fanny [fannie!]. Oh well. ::snorts::
Glad you stopped by my FM today. Have a great week.
melissa - were you drinking?
sayre - I was wondering if anyone would notice LeVar! I can't remember him from anything except "Roots."
ari_1965 - I don't think I can pronounce that - you got me!
swampangel65 - totally! I wish I had said "red codpiece" first!
chrisb - the codpiece CANNOT be forgotten.
robocop - just say it, then you don't have to worry!
hootin' annie - LOL!! I guess I'm a wee bit narcissistic...Happy Fun Monday to you!
Wish I'd had a few more epiphanies by this stage in my life. Also, like a girl who notices the "small" wardrobe details. In fact, weren't gentlemen's undies called "smalls" back in the 1800s? That would include WT's pirate panties, I suppose?
Wonderful words both! Plethora and epiphany ... yes ... marvelous choices. Thanks for dropping by Small Reflections. I'm wondering what kinds of problems you're having with Wordle? Maybe I can help ...
Hugs and blessings,
Plethora - I also love myriad and epitome (even if I did pronounce it ep-i-tome for the longest time). Thank God someone finally corrected me!
What great words! I Have to know though... am I the Only one that was freaked out over the Man-faced dogs? Thank God I'm a cat lover! Cameo... Wow those were the days! Thanks for stopping by my site too... Have a Fun Monday!
Yes! I love the word that rhymes with Tiffany! I use it often! I enjoyed your post.
I love your post! I'm so glad I stopped by and listened to those videos, because I didn't recognize the song name, but as soon as I heard that tune it brought back memories.
Showing my age here -- they just don't make music videos like they used to:)
I will try in the future to include epiphany every day in my conversations, lol !
I like both those words. :) I love plethora, can you believe someone hates that word? ;)
Can you have a plethora of epiphanies Tiffany?
Good choices and I second the vote for codpiece. hehe.
faye - you are totally making me giggle - maybe it's the use of "small" and "WT" in the same sentence?
storyteller - I finally got it to work, but wanted it to take my text and make it repeat over and over, but alas, it was not meant to be!
sandy - I'm giggle at "ep-it-OHM" - but at least you were trying, right?
jenny - the dogs kinda creeped me out, too...then again, Korn kinda creeps me out when they just look like themselves!
mommywizdom - thanks! And I'm determined to find more words like that...
cruise mom - glad you enjoyed the tunes...it's embarrassing to think that the Cameo song is TWENTY TWO years old! Good times...
gattina - I would love to just HAVE an epiphany - I think I'm running out of time!
lisaschaos - I was shocked as well - but then, there are people who (gasp!) don't like chocolate...so...just sayin...
bond - I could, but I'd probably have to be somewhere other than the symphony! Good to see you again!
bee repartee - I think codpiece should be the word of a day - deserving of its own post, perhaps?
plethora...sounds like another body part
BTW, I like your name
Epiphany is one of my favorite words as well. I use it often. Cheers Tigger!!
I used to work with someone named Lorelei! I thought it was made up just for her!
Ha! I was just listening to the Cameo version of this song on my "Old School Jams" CD the other day.
"Epiphany" is a really good one!
grace - thank you! And I wonder which part?
matt-man - cheers to you as well - and you are the perfect person to use that word!
kila - I guess you haven't heard the Styx song by that name?
desert songbird - great minds think alike!
rebecca - has a nice ring, doesn't it?
