Fun Monday Parasites

Lisa has outdone herself as this week's Fun Monday hostess - check out the special logo for this week! Be sure to stop by her place to check out all the participant's pet photos. She wanted to know what kind of parasitic creatures dwell in our homes, consuming mass quantities of food and requiring frequent vet visits. I hope no one cheated and used something from i can has cheezburger. At least the following photo is REALLY our cat, Whiskas. Don't know if she'll make the site, but at least they let me submit her:

Most of you have seen our dog, Lucky Loo Poo Woo, but I had to share the photo we took of our first Halloween with him. This was when he was about 6 months old, at a time when I was still buying him dog sweaters. Now he prefers to wear ice cream cartons.

Remember when my daughter's boyfriend gave her crabs a while back? She named one of them "Romance" and the other "Sanity." Romance was a bit unhealthy and didn't survive long. For a while there, when people asked about the crabs, I would tell them, "Romance is dead, but Sanity LIVES!" And Sanity is still with us. Of course, I don't call the crab Sanity. Just like Poo Woo, I gave it a new name - "Crabilicious." I have no idea why I call it that - I just do.

One of my agents borrowed my good camera, so this is all I could show for now. Now go check out all the other Fun Monday participants!

hermit crab???

I haven't seen blue bell ice cream in forever. Smart dog. When the hubby eats ice cream, The Contessa hears the spoon clicking on the bowl. She sits by him until she gets to lick the bowl.

Animals are too much fun.

I creeped myself out with my comment to youm so I got nothin'. Sorry.

I totally forgot you had crabs! Or your daughter did. :) Good to know Sanity lives in your house, doing without romance is probably ok but Sanity is needed. :)

It was sweet seeing the big puppy in a sweater. :)

love the dalmation costume! he's adorable, even when he wears ice cream cartons.

the crab? hmmm. not so much ;-)

I have to admit that having a crab as a pet is quite special, lol ! Does it sleep in your bed ? I love the dog and cat picture, he looks so funny in his dress ! Today it's really fun to read all the Fun Monday posts !

Okay the dogs cute but the name is sooooo not cute.

Could I order a lobster please!
Haha! Great post!

Rofl....I love how your dog dressed as a dalmation. Too funny.

Some great photos and a wonderful Fun Monday post as always.

Romance is dead but Sanity lives? Sounds like a great title for a blog...lol.

Great pics and I love your dog!

Okay, this post is making me laugh sooooo hard!

Okay, I'm a very sick person, but when you wrote something about your daughter's boyfriend giving her crabs, cute little crustaceans wasn't the first thing that crossed my mind. It took me a minute to register . . .

Bad Kaycie. Bad!

pamela - YES! Hermit crab! Not my first choice as a pet, tho.

simply jenn - you creeped yourself out? I could STAND a good creeping out!

lisa's chaos - you're making me want to dig up old photos of Poo Woo. Oh, and it was a cow costume.

janet - the crab kinda creeps me out. Oh, and it was actually a cow costume.

gattina - that crab STAYS in the tank! Roger and Amber take him out, but he's too creepy. And - the dog is actually wearing a cow costume.

karisma - The name of Lucky Loo Poo Woo? Teehee! It sounds better when I say it.

the very nice man - LOL! Yeah - but he's not big enough to eat yet.

hootin' anni - thank you, an uh, cow costume. I should have pointed out the udders.

sandy - I loved that, too! If I was more sane, it WOULD make a good blog title.

cynthia - glad to provide a giggle!

kaycie - actually, when I first announced the fact a few months ago? Hehehe...I led everyone to believe EXACTLY what you were thinking!

We got to see one of our hermit crabs switch shells once. It was SO cool! We didn't get any photos though because he was really nervous.

So...how much do you like telling people that you daughter's boyfriend gave her crabs? :D

Sai Hijara - Ferraris said...

Oh, can I play with him? ;)

ChrisB said...

My first thought when I saw the 1st picture was he's trying to be a Dalmation~ but I see it was a cow costume!
This reminds me when my girls used to dress our dog and push her around in a dolls pram! I now wish I'd taken pictures!

When you said your dughter's boyfriend gave her crabs...well...my mind went straight to the gutter until I kept reading and saw you meant HERMIT CRABS! Whew! I used to have a couple of those myself. Not exactly snuggle pets, but kind of interesting to watch. Thanks for sharing!

Love the crab names! LOL :^D Lucky is so cute! I love labs. he is a lab right?

Kaytabug said...

Aww I like the pic of Whiskas, that is too cute!
I love Poo Woo!
It's a good thing Sanity still lives somewhere!

Tiggerlane said...

susan - Ours switched into 4 different shells, just this month - but I never could catch him naked! And yes, I love seeing people's faces when I mention the crabs. Teehee!

mariposa - come play!

swampangel65 - yeah, some folks were VERY surprised when they read the original post about the gift of crabs!

nan - I think he's PART lab, at least the loveable-goofy-likes to swim part. He may be part pit bull, b/c of all this muscles.

kaytabug - that little tank in our home is the ONLY place Sanity lives! LOL!

Romance and Sanity? Romance is DEAD?!

BWAHAHAHAHAHA! I like yours and your daughter's senses of humor.

Funny girl, you are. I'm kind of like you--our pets have dozens of unofficial names. Aussie and Callie are alternately known as Beastarella, Beast and Mini-Beast, Poocharella, Poocharina, Calliegirl...

I guess it just depends on MY mood and what they're into, lol.

And, hmmmm, wearing ice cream? Sounds like a good idea to me!

Nothin' says loving like the gift of crabs. . . !

You put the "fun" in Monday, no doubts about that, Tiggerlane :).

That first picture is priceless LOL And Poo Woo is absolutely adorable but his name gets me everytime and I have to laugh!

That is so cool how you did your cat. Your puppies are so cute!
My bear really aint that mean!

I love hermit crabs. I had 3 when I was a kid. They are too much fun. I agree with your dog, an ice cream carton is way better to wear than a swaeter.

You may be the only person to make a food reference about one of the pets featured in todays Fun Monday blogs...

Very funny. Lucky you to always have the photos from the time your daughter was given crabs!

My hubby is like you, renaming the pets. My Patches ended up Poo Poo. He insisted on Poo Poo even after I pointed out he was calling him poop.

Men.

Gave your daughter crabs?? It took me a minute to get my mind out of gutter!! Love the costume on your lab!!

Kila said...

"Now he prefers to wear ice cream cartons." LMAO!

Our daughter has 2 hermit crabs. Sirdar didn't get a photo of them for his post however. Cute photos. I love how cats have a way of turning inside out and still looking comfortable.

Unknown said...

I really read that gave my daughter crabs wrong!! Whoopsy! My hermit crab growing up was Shelldon. Dogs who are part of the family are always the best pets.

Faye said...

Old Poo Woo has good taste in ice cream brand. My boy also loves cleaning up ice cream containers.

Are you relieved that your daughter has crabs just halfway now??

Anonymous said...

Your Lucky Loo Poo Woo is pretty cute and obviously good with kids.

You must be a pretty special mom. Not many moms would put up with their daughter's boyfriend giving her crabs :-)

ped crossing said...

I hope Mr. Crab doesn't think you plan to eat him with his new name. He looks like he might be kind of cute.

Tiggerlane said...

desert songbird - I think we would all have a HILARIOUS time, hanging out!

pensieve robin - good to see you! Yeah, we sound alike with our re-naming schemes - it's just that our are SO much better, right?

joy t. - y'know, until this Fun Monday, I never realized how funny that dog's name sounds.

kitten - you can do the same thing to your cat photo - just go to icanhascheezburger.com, and they have a photo builder in there!

nikki - my hubby said the sweaters made our dog look gay...and that the other dogs would make fun of him. He was neutered anyway, so I didn't see the big deal.

retrohipster - I haven't gotten around to all of them yet, but I'll bet your right!

bond - my sanity is definitely not in question, it's just plain NOT THERE!

bluemomma - okay, Poo Poo is MUCH worse than Poo Woo! LOL!

alison - I'm always good for a laugh, or shock value...and it's exactly where I like everyone's mind to be!

kila - heck, if I didn't need to lose weight, I think I would wear actual ice cream. Oh, wait, I already do - on my hips.

colors of dawn - I was actually surprised to hear how many folks had hermit crabs...they really are easy to maintain, and fun to watch!

anglophile football fanatic - yeah, I love making people think my kid has crabs! But now, she only has one...how about that game last night?

faye - YES! Half the crabs, half the maintenance.

sirdar - especially when you consider who is responsible for all the crab care in the house - certainly not her! She just received, I have to deal.

ped crossing - I'm going to let him get bigger first. Besides, he's a great climber. I'll have to post more photos soon!

Hey You. Happy New Year. Haven't had any time to visit for several months...Thanks for always popping in.

Jo Beaufoix said...

Hee hee. I love the halloween costume, and the crab us, erm, gorgeous. ;)

Anonymous said...

'Romance is dead, Sanity lives', LOVE it! That would make a great Tagline.

And I love ice cream, especially Blue Bell. That would be my favorite photo.

Happy New Years, Tigger!

I have a soft spot for hermit crabs - I've had several in my life and they can be a lot of fun.

The new Fun Monday topic is now available. :)

raffi said...

hopefully you don't call him crabilicious because he looks tasty in a butter sauce with a nice chianti on the side.

Caroline said...

The critters are adorable! I had to look twice at the dog photo. At first glance I thought he WAS a Dalmation! Hmmm, wonder if Marnie would let me dress Kobe up like a cat or something.

Tiggerlane said...

m@ - those two comments? That close together? I'm officially taking offense.

swampy - you are totally forgiven, and it is GREAT to see you!

jo beaufoix - so I'm guessing you don't want a crab as a birthday present, right?

christine@arewethereyetmom - Happy New Year to you as well! And you're right - maybe I can get Bond to adjust my header.

-ann - I've signed up - it will be fun! And I'm enjoying watching the crab, to be honest. I may get him a buddy.

raffi - he's not big enough to eat...yet! But no, it's a term of endearment.

caroline - I think Kobe is MUCH happier with you - so you should be able to get him to hold still for all sorts of costuming.

Alix said...

Lovely pictures. Great names for the crabs although I do admit you line introducing them brought me up short with a WTH before I carried on - LOL

Karina said...

As you can see, you're not the only way still trying to get around to all the Fun Mondayers...I'm way behind as well.

And I'm glad that I'm not the only one in the gutter about the whole "daughter's boyfriend gave her crabs" comment. ;-)

Robinella said...

I could never understand buying sweaters for animals. I thought they must be so hot! But I have to admit, I love to see them in clothes. So fun. I am always tempted at the pet store to pick a little something up for Kubi. I just might one of these days. That is if the boys will stop dressing her up.

Tiggerlane said...

alix - that's what I'm here for, at least one good WTH per month!

karina - I try to actually LEAD everyone to the gutter, like it's my home. And I finally finished the Fun Mondayers TODAY.

robinella - Well, Poo Woo seemed so cold when he was outside his first winter, but he ended up liking hay in his dog house better. He won't even tolerate a bandana on his neck now, and he's got the PERFECT look for it!

bichonpawz said...

Love the pics!!! The cat does look inside out! And I had to laugh because you actually had a photo of when your daughter had crabs...BWAHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Tiggerlane said...

bermudabluez - LOL! Yeah - let's hope they are the ONLY ones she ever gets!
